This notice explains how Thompson Electrical Services ("we", "us") uses personal information collected through the Thompson Electrical Services website (tes-sw.com). We are the data controller for this information.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through our contact form, we collect:
- your name and email address
- your phone number, if you give it
- the service and property type you choose, and the details you write about your job or property
Our hosting provider also keeps short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the website secure and working.
How we use it
We use your enquiry only to reply to you, give you a quote, and arrange or carry out the work you ask about. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We never sell your information or use it for marketing without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website. They process information only on our instructions:
- Vercel, which hosts the website
- Supabase, which stores enquiries securely
- Resend, which delivers enquiry emails to our inbox
Some of these providers may store or process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 24 months and then delete them automatically. If you become a customer, we keep the records we need for the job, warranties and our legal and tax obligations, typically for up to 6 years.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies this website sets are strictly necessary ones that keep our staff signed in to the site's admin area. Visitors to the public pages are not tracked.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, or restrict or object to how we use it. To make a request, email info@tes-sw.com or call 01637 226540. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
